even though they tried to hide;
I stood there praying,
even though no one was by your side.

even though it was hidden to the world;
I always vowed to keep it,
even though you didn’t know.

I held your hand,
even though you didn’t know I was there;
I and god was your rock on sinking sand;
even though you thought no one cared.

I kept hope,
even though your days seemed cloudy on end;
I always hoped for the sunshine,
even though you thought you had no friends.

I smiled for you,
even though smiling was so hard;
I kept the tiny memories of you,
even though they made me sad.

I kept strong,
even though your journey was not mine,
I waited with opened arms,
even though you didn’t know I was at the finishing line.

I have always been there,
even though you didn’t have a clue;
I will always be there,
even though you never knew.

I always believed,
even though at times believing wasn’t enough;
I never ceased praying,
even though at times praying seemed so tough.

I prayed every single night,
even though my knees were getting weak;
I sought answers through the bibles sight,
even though my eye sight was getting bleak.

I have always been your friend,
even though countless of years have passed;
I will always be there till the very end,
even though they say “good things hardly last”.

I knew your secret and you can depend on me to keep it.
