You’re all set in your ways
Thats the way it stays
Nothing you hear can phase you
Our relationship is strained
There’s nothing to be gained
My shortcoming it plays true.
You said you’ve moved on
Pretty soon you’ll be gone.
I say thats too bad,
Lovin you was all I had.

You say you’ve move to day from night,
But I still cant see the light,
And you cant see your blindness
We both have lost the toss,
Didn’t have to suffer loss,
But I dont think you mind this.
I say that its so gay,
On most days that love’s this way.
You say its the past,
Just a thing that didn’t last.

I tried to break you down.
To get you to come around.
But you think its all senseless.
Second chances should come free,
Thats if it were up to me,
Just to avoid this tense stress,
There’s just no convincing you,
To do something you dont choose to,
Why cant we just end,
This charade and try again.

I close this chapter in my book,
And regret how long it took,
To force this ink onto paper,
The memories keep popping up,
I cant make them stop.
I cant seem to shake her.
I guess she’s become a stain,
On the canvas of my brain,
If only I had faith in fate,
Then It wouldn’t be too late.
